Join Our Team – Festival Coordinator
Sudafest is looking for a Festival Coordinator to support the planning and delivery of our upcoming festival in Bristol. This is a flexible, part-time role ideal for someone passionate about arts, culture, and community engagement, with a strong understanding of Sudanese culture.
Role Details
Location: Remote. On-site availability in Bristol is required on 21 June 2025
Pay: £750 (all-inclusive)
Commitment: Approx. 50 hours total, including:
8-10 planning meetings (1 hour each) between April and June
3 hours per week for 10 weeks leading up to the festival
Full-day (10 hours) on-site commitment on event day (21 June 2025)
Key Responsibilities
Artist & Supplier Coordination – Managing contracts, artist commissions, and supplier communications.
Festival Planning & Oversight – Contributing ideas, attending meetings, and tracking key actions.
Engagement & Operations – Liaising with volunteers, community groups, and partners.
Logistics & Event Management – Overseeing security, risk assessments, schedules, and on-the-day coordination.
Marketing & Promotion – Supporting outreach efforts to maximise audience engagement.
Post-Festival Review – Collecting feedback and archiving key festival materials.
Requirements
Fluency in both Arabic and English (spoken and written).
Strong knowledge of Sudanese culture, arts, and traditions.
Experience in event planning, community engagement, or arts coordination.
Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work flexibly, attend weekly meetings, and be on-site in Bristol on 21 June 2025.
Experience in managing volunteers, artists, and suppliers.
Basic understanding of health & safety, risk assessment, and event logistics.
Experience in marketing, outreach, or audience engagement is a plus.
