Sudanese Youth Theatre & Choir

The Youth Theatre and Choir project is composed of a series of workshops for children aged 7-14. In these sessions, children delve into the realm of drama and explore stories from Sudan. Guided by the principles of community theatre, the workshops allow children to participate in the creation of stories so that they can freely express themselves and let their imaginations flourish. These workshops have culminated in a number of original theatre shows and performances including:

"Stories under the Lemon Tree";  weaving together the threads of Sudanese folklore, and showcasing iconic characters such as Hassan Alshatir and Fatma Alsamha.

"Haboba's Sheep," telling the story of a group of children who become involved in an adventurous quest to find their Grandma's lost sheep.
